Mass Control 2.0 Week 1

Week 1. Planting The Seeds for Total Domination

A Little Note

Alright guys, this is going to be a long post, but as you know we’re always giving great value here at easisell.com/blog. Do you think you’ll be able to last ’til the end? Go on, you know you can icon wink The Ultimate Mass Control 2.0 Review (Part 2)

Anyhow, I promise that you won’t find another comprehensive review about Mass Control anywhere else on the net!

There are two DVD’s in Week 1, along with two Audio CDs and a full color manual. Each DVD has around 4 videos that are approximately 20 minutes and the CDs are around an hour each (I know… that’s a bunch of material right there).

Now, you can’t actually buy Mass Control at the moment – it’s completely sold out. As far as I remember, Frank is going to put it back up for sale again shortly – so if you want to know more just go to www.masscontrolsite.com and sign up to his list.

Introduction

In Week 1: Planting The Seeds For Total Domination, we follow the example of Frank’s Underachiever Method. Using Mass Control tactics, this product managed to gross around $1m in only two weeks.

Sections of Week 1

  1. Map out your plan of attack in less than 1 hour
  2. Finding your Mass Control Money Magnets video
  3. Sample Underachiever Newsletter 1 & 2
  4. Assignments
  5. Finding out how to create your main components of Mass Control
  6. Pulling it all together
  7. Mind maps to find hidden money
  8. How to position your product for the highest perceived value
  9. The deadly Howitzer method

Frank goes through the “Underachiever Method” outline in very easy to follow top-down diagram. He talks about the following:

  • How Ed Dale and himself sat in a coffee shop in Tokyo, and literally came up with the entire Underachiever method launch outline
  • The importance of planning and what it means to your product launch
  • An outline of how we plan “attacks” on markets
  • The value of Mind Maps and planning
  • How he made a million in under two weeks on the Underachiever Launch (these tactics are taught in detail over the entire course)
  • Money magnet & Teleclass ideas
  • How to identify and contact potential partners
  • Finding your Mass Control money magnets video

This video covers in great detail, how you should go about connecting with your market – using the following components:

  1. Interest & Desire
  2. Bonding & Trust
  3. Proof
  4. Samples

It also takes us through sample Underachiever newsletters 1 & 2 which illustrate how Frank has maintained anticipation of his market and involved those in it in the product launch using cleverly constructed language – typo’s included! (if you watch some of Yanik Silver’s Best Of The Underground Seminars, you’ll hear guru’s talking about split testing with and without typo’s – typo’s have higher conversions… go figure!)

Assignments

Frank loves giving homework, as he freely admits. It’s obviously a power thing. Seriously though, these homework assignments are essential to your understanding of the Mass Control launch sequence and how you’re going to implement the steps for your campaign when the time comes.

Each assignment is easy to follow and well laid-out so that you don’t get confused. There’s not actually that much to do, but it’s a good exercise in analytical thinking i.e. how is this all going to fit together for me and my product?

I didn’t personally perform every single piece of homework given – but that’s just me. That might be attributed to the fact that I don’t yet have a product to sell, but if you do – then these exercises should be completed. They’ll give you a much better idea of where you’re headed and along the way, you’re probably going to find out some things that would have evaded you – things that might be the difference between success and pain.

Mind Maps to find hidden money

Mind maps are literally just that – a collection of thoughts about a certain topic that spread out like a network on a blank canvas. Frank shows us a free service to demonstrate this topic, called www.bubbl.us. To get an idea of what it can do for you, here’s a basic mind map that I created in about a minute – straight from the web:

mass control week 1 example 1024x436 The Ultimate Mass Control 2.0 Review (Part 2)

bubbl.us Mind Map Example

Like me, some people will find this extremely useful – especially for those that are predominantly right-brained and like thinking in pictures. Also, if you don’t want to have to install software on different terminals in order to take your work around with you, then you’re going to benefit from using this online application.

A word of warning about the mind maps. If you’re like me, you like playing around with cool-looking gadgets. I see the mind mapping software as both a tool for success and a tool for procrastination. If you can do it without a mind map – DO IT WITHOUT A MIND MAP. For God’s sake – don’t spend all day on bubbl.us and then have hardly anything to show for it when you’re done (yes, I’ve been a guilty of this).

To juice it up, Frank threw in a reference to a very powerful “secret tool” that he uses which gives him a nice view of his chosen market, competition included. This is something to look forward to if you’re going to purchase Mass Control 2.0 when it’s released again… I’ve used it a few times now and each time it’s given me information that I would have had a lot of difficulty finding otherwise, if at all.

How to position your product for the highest perceived value

Do you know what your target market is conditioned to see when they search for products within that market? Are you happy selling products for the market value, or would you like to make the most money out of them possible?

There are various fool-proof tactics that you can employ to increase the perceived value of your products. Some of the methods described in this section are, “the Desire to Acquire”, pricing structures and product repackaging. With guidelines like the ones in this video you can reposition your product to command a higher price, thus giving you a higher profit. All of this is essential tuition for the budding info product creator.

I’ve only recently learned about how to reposition products, as I’ve been behind a desk designing for most of my life. In my opinion, it’s something that a lot of people can overlook. For example, if you’re selling soda, there’s literally nothing that you can do to reposition your product to have a higher perceived value. There’s a price for soda, no matter what soda it is – just go and check the vending machine and tell me what the price difference is between the different products. It’s probably less than a dollar difference. In the information market however, product repositioning is something that is very easily done, and I’ve learned quite a few things from this video alone about how to do that.

Mass Control 2.0 aside – if you’re in the internet marketing industry and you don’t know about product repositioning – go and do a Google search, it’s that important.

The deadly Howitzer method

Remember when you heard about MC 2.0? Did you wake up one morning and find that everyone around you was talking about it all of a sudden, as if it had invaded earth like some kind of plague? (I’m not sure if that’s the best metaphor but you get the picture…)

Well, the fact of the matter is, Mass Control 1 & 2, The Annihilation Method, Stompernet, Pipeline Profits and even The Underachiever Method all had at least one thing in common – which was the Howitzer Method.

If you’re going to take away just one thing from the first week of the course, let it be this: The Howitzer Method is the “Shock & Awe” component that propelled the market to start walking, talking, eating and sleeping the campaigns that Frank has previously launched. Without the Howitzer Method, a product launch is nowhere near as effective as it could be – heck, I even think that the Howitzer Method could be the meat of the launch in terms of turnover.

When done properly, this amazing tactic will give you all the propellant you’ll need to become wildly successful in your chosen market.

The Audio CDs

There are two audio CDs in the same box as the DVDs, that play a recording of a conference call that was held for the original Mass Control 1 customers.

Originally, the call was meant to be an interactive Q&A, but because Frank forgot to mention this to his call host it unfortunately didn’t happen. However, he managed to accumulate some of the most commonly asked questions that he received from email to go through during the call – so it’s still a Q&A and we still find out answers to the most popular questions.

Points covered are:

  • Customer testimonials from using The 4 Day Cash Machine
  • How to find a market for your product
  • How to create physical products to increase perceived value (where to go and who to contact)
  • How to analyze open rates and construct the best email formats
  • How to gauge your market & competition using services and tools
  • How to make videos for the campaigns and where to get the software
  • What’s the best day to send out the emails and when the best time is to implement Mass Control
  • & a whole lot more. (The above is only a brief description of the first CD)

The audio CDs should not be overlooked. I made the mistake of doing that with The 4 Day Cash Machine product that was shipped with Mass Control 2.0.

Like a lot of video products that come with audio CD’s, some people find it rather easy to forget about the less “stimulating” materials (I know that sounds like I’m saying watching Frank Kern talking is stimulating but I’m swear I’m not – it’s a screen capture for the most part people! Come on!)

In fact, it is a known fact that around less than 50% of any kind of educational products that are purchased are followed through all the way to the end. If you’re going to invest this much money in an educational prodcut like Mass Control, you really owe it to yourself to absorb ALL the material, including the audio CDs – they will really help with your understanding of the way that elements in this package work, and how the picture fits together. I really can’t stress this point enough.

Final Thoughts For Week 1

This video gave Marj and I a lot of ideas to play with. We immediately went to use the free mind-mapping tool  and came up with our version for how the Mass Control product launch looked like for our own products.

Mass Control 2.0 is a large package to go through. As I said, each DVD is around 1 hr 20 minutes and then you have another 1 hr 30 minutes of audio material to go through. It seems overwhelming at first, and we’ve learned that if you eat lunch or dinner before going through a week from start to finish, you’ll be likely fast asleep before you get to the second DVD (sorry Frank!).

Realistically, if you’re not into absorbing this much material in one night then you’re going to want to spread it out over the entire week. A comforting fact is that you have that week to absorb all the materials. Heck, you have more than a week if you’re going to be like me.

Also, I thought that it would be interesting to point out that Frank originally had Mass Control set up as an online electronic course. One thing that I’ve noticed is that he sometimes refers to content that I’ve heard nothing about. I contacted Frank’s assistant for more information and she apologized, saying the materials were only for original Mass Control users. Strange, but true.

I felt a little cheated because of this – the materials mentioned sounded great (video interview with Bob Serling about licensing the 4 Day Cash Machine, a video with Matt Trainer about pay per click and so on…) and naturally after making a claim that they’re “available” it’s obviously going to hurt when you find out that they’re actually not. It seems a bit crappy that we pay $1,997 for a course that has no online members support. Surely that’s an oversight on Frank’s behalf? There’s no doubt that this system works and has worked for many people in the past – but it’s also a known fact that people learn better in a community environment and to take down that members area has let a lot of people down.

So for anyone wondering if there is an official online area for members… there’s not – (as far as I’ve found).

However, the warrior forum has a group of Mass Control 2.0 students that have set up their own private Ning community, for which you can be invited. The group is founded by Mr. Pete Surdoval and they have active forums and weekly conference calls (which I think is pretty cool). So if you happen to buy MC 2.0 in the future, either contact myself and I will invite you, or search for Pete in the warrior forum and he’ll likely grant you access.

So, having said all that I can about the week 1 materials without giving too much away – that’s this review finished and I hope to see you on the next instalment which should hit your RSS and newsletters very shortly!

Thanks & Have a Great Day!

EDIT: I’ve actually been informed that there is a members area for Mass Control 2.0 subscribers, but it’s in the form of an upsell. So basically, Frank took the original members area and created a new service with it.

Thanks for the information Clément. There is a lot here for me to think about. I still feel like I’m drinking from a fire hose on the net. :-) I really like mind maps but I too seem to spend a lot of time working the map instead of the information. Keep up the great work!

Excellent detailed no-fluff review, thanks! Your part about “product repositioning” sounds intriguing, so I’m going to do what you suggest and Google more about it, plus dig back into the marketing books from school to get into the fine details.

In a way, I can understand about not having an online members support. Many courses I’ve taken don’t offer this, probably because you’d get into consulting and virtual assistant type services where there could be a fine line between offering help for the materials and hand-holding each step of the way.

Instead, though, they normally offer a member forum where fellow students can team up, help each other, recommend resources, etc., like at AWAI (American Writers and artists Institute). So maybe that will appear down the road, with enough interest and requests. Forum management with so many fly-by spammers today is a chore in itself, though, so understand delays for jumping into that. Perhaps a couple students could volunteer to moderate and get the ball rolling…

Hey Clement! Nice and detailed review – where were you when I was looking for non-affiliate reviews of Mass Control? LOL!

Anyway, I thought the audio CDs were referring to the membership site for the Mass Control monthly membership product – remember? The one Frank made as OTO after we purchased MC? I skipped that offer and when I listen to the audio CDs I sometimes feel a twinge of regret.

It’s great to hear that MC students are forming groups. I am thinking of forming one myself, exclusively for female MCers. I’ll invite Marj when I’ve got the group set up.

Hey guys, thanks very much for the awesome thoughts.

I know how you feel Stephen, more often than not things can become very overwhelming. I’m also feeling like this a lot lately too… Perhaps some time management and systematization is needed. Let me know :)

Diana, it’s all my pleasure. You know, I edited the post after I checked with a friend of mine – it is in fact true – the members area exists but it was an OTO after the purchase was made. I remember now, Frank made a video about it.

Still, it somehow doesn’t explain why he says that these videos (Bob Serling, Matt Trainer) are “available” in the members area. Surely it should read something like “if you’re signed up to our members area…”

Hi Lexi – nice to have you on our blog! Didn’t you know, detailed is my middle name? :P

Yep, like I said, I actually put and “EDIT:” into the post just to make it clear that I had recognized that the members area was an upsell. Thanks for pointing that out – I need to be kept straight.

You know, I will send you an invite to the Mass Control Private community if you would like one.

  • Paul

So, shall we ask for those videos? It is in response to a question about how a beginner can start without a product or list.

I feel somewhat cheated too, especially since in his marketing of MC 2.0 he stated even new people can do it.

just stopped by to say i really liked your site – you’ve put some work into it!

Sorry for the late reply Rihanna :) Thank you very much for your touching comment – I’m so happy you recognize the hard work!!! Haha.

Stop by often, would love to have you around from now on.

    Take care!
